Netflix finally relented and gave annoyed customers a way to disable auto-play of previews on their website.

1 - Sign in to Netflix
2 - Go to "Manage Profiles"
3 - Choose the profile you want to update
4 - Make sure "Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices" is unchecked
